ACADEMICALLY GIFTED LEARNERS

SAS provides conceptual, relevant, and personalized instruction in order to guide gifted learners toward new depths of understanding. We help students sharpen their higher-order thinking skills by encouraging them to ask questions, make connections across concepts and disciplines, use inference, develop problem-solving strategies, and interpret information as they construct elaborate responses.

Further, the mastery of specific skill sets helps gifted students succeed in high volume classes and take on high academic challenges with confidence. For this purpose, we integrate executive function, active study skills, and time management strategies into our lessons, which provide a comfortable space in which to practice and hone skills. We also encourage discussion and offer enrichment to help broaden our students' horizons - as well as our own!
